Relocation services help against payment when moving to the Freiburg area – including housing search and authorities.
There were relocation helpers earlier, today there are relocation services: Sophie Josuttis runs one and earns money by virtually taking her clients by the hand. The same business model is pursued by Marion Schuon-Schmidt. She is also a professional “Relocater” and supports people who move to Freiburg. For their mostly foreign clients, the two female entrepreneurs regulate relocation, housing search and authorities, make visa applications, but also take care of kindergarten places, language lessons and the appropriate golf club.
Such a service has its price: 2000-4000 euro must lie down a four-headed family for a two to four-month care. But usually the newcomers do not have to pay for it themselves. “Our clients are mostly companies that want to deploy their employees in the greater Freiburg area,” says Sophie Josuttis. Among the customers of the 44-year-olds, the trained secretary includes, for example, the Waldkirch sensor manufacturer Sick and the Freiburg-based chemical company Rhodia.
